Superintendent's Message
Welcome!
Dear Nuview Union School District Community,
It is hard to believe that we are already halfway through the 23-24 school year. I wanted to take this opportunity to provide you with an update on a few of the great things that are taking place throughout our district and wish you all a successful second half of the school year as we begin 2024. For those of you whom I have not had an opportunity to meet, my name is John Huber, and I am truly honored to be part of a community that places a high value on education and the success of its students.
As the Superintendent of this amazing district, I am excited to share with you some remarkable achievements and ongoing initiatives that make Nuview Union School District an exceptional place for learning and growth. Our dedicated team of educators, administrators, and support staff work collaboratively to create a nurturing environment that fosters academic excellence, personal development, and a sense of community.
As I visited school sites throughout the first semester, I witnessed students who showed a growth mindset and were actively engaged in their learning. It was also great to watch activities such as Spirit Weeks, Plays, and Athletic Events provided for our students that will create memories that will last well beyond the school year! NUSD has a goal of developing a well-rounded experience for our students, and I am proud of our growth throughout the first semester, both academically and social-emotionally. I look forward to watching this progress throughout the school year's second half.
One of the things we are working on in the second semester is the ongoing development of a "Framework for the Future." This initiative represents our commitment to providing our students with the knowledge, skills, and dispositions necessary to thrive in an ever-evolving world. We recognize the importance of preparing our students not just for today but for the challenges and opportunities that await them in the future.
Our "Framework for the Future" is a comprehensive and forward-thinking approach to education. It encompasses a holistic view of learning, emphasizing not only academic achievement but also the development of critical thinking, problem-solving skills, and a strong sense of social responsibility. By instilling these values in our students, we aim to prepare them to become confident, capable individuals ready to impact the world positively.
Over the next few weeks, we will send our annual LCAP survey to our entire school community. This is an opportunity for each of our educational partners to provide feedback as we begin writing our new LCAP plan. We encourage each of you to take the time to answer the questions in our survey and leave any comments for us on what is working and what areas we can grow. Your ideas and thoughts are important to us as we continue to work on making NUSD a better place for our entire school community.
I am proud to be part of a district that values innovation and is dedicated to providing a well-rounded education for all students. As we strive for excellence, I invite you to join us in our journey toward creating a brighter future for the Nuview Union School District students.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to collaborating with you in the new year.
Sincerely,
John Huber
Superintendent
